- I still wonder whether somehow changing the orientation of the brain
(perhaps with the glove) might be useful.
- It occurs to me that we might find a floating display, fixed with
respect to head position, useful.
For example I might include several flat frames arranged vertically off to
the side of the 3d image.
- the T2 MRI slice currently selected without DTI info superimposed.
- the T2 MRI slice with 2D DTI info superimposed [Note: both seem
important as deep structures are hidden by 3d display]
- identifying information such as the name of data set and
thresholding information on what is being display in 3D.
If 3D DTI display finds clinical application by practicing
neuroradiologists in ? years I suspect something like this will
be necessary. More importantly
I think it might be useful in deciding what we are looking at in the short
term.
- Could there be an interface involving the glove or pointer
which allowed the user to choose among preset thresholding of
the data displayed in 3d?
- It would be nice if we could freeze the image and print out
a "3d" image with annotation similar to those in your streamtubes paper.
- Purely out of curiosity: how difficult or easy would it be to print out
a frozen image of what we see in the CAVE which could be viewed with
something like those old red-green 3d horror flick glasses or the old
stereoviewers?
